Valentine’s Day is coming up Tuesday, and if I know them, state officials will wait until the last minute to pick out a gift for the people of the State of Rhode Island. So take it from me, lawmakers: Nothing would say “I love you” to the citizenry better than a stronger Access to Public Records Act.
Now, this legislation hasn’t gotten a lot of love in years past. But I’m counting on Governor Chafee, Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin, House Speaker Gordon D. Fox and Senate President M. Teresa Paiva Weed to embrace this long overdue overhaul. Read more
